An important pillar of the Opera House’s year-round First Nations program, Badu Gili is an essential Sydney cultural experience for both visitors and the local community that aims to foster and celebrate a shared sense of belonging for all Australians.
Commissioned by creative agency Yakkazoo and curated by Head of First Nations Programming, Rhoda Roberts AO, VANDAL is proud to have been involved as CoLab animation partner for “Badu Gili”, a digital placemaking, permanent art installation projected onto the eastern Bennelong sails of The Sydney Opera House.
Badu Gili (meaning “water-light” in Gadigal language) features the work of six First Nations artists Djambawa Marawili AM, Mervyn Rubuntja, Mabel Juli, Patricia Ansell Dodds, Penny Evans and Aiona Tala Gaidan.
